Zahedan. Refueling the Airplane out of fuel barrels, a new experience
for us. Professionally handled by the local groundcrew, with fire-extinguisher
in different distances an a sued filter. We were impressed.
Sven Girsperger, who is a geologist and avid flyer with small
planes to remote areas about the world commented the prictures,
which Nicolas took during the flight vom Esfahan to Zahedan as
follows:
The desert which you flew over is the
Desert LUT. A desert, which had in the old days a bad reputation
(Polo, Hedin and others). What is shown in the pictures you took
are the folds of the Zagros mountains and also of the Diapires
(salt domes of central Persia. Sven had worked in this area in
his younger days to find (successfully) oil.
Great Sven, thanks for the explanations, it is much more to know
the structure than just seeing and admiring an interesting structure

Foothill of the Kühhä-ye Kühpäye. Dry rivers
structure the terrain like the veins of a leaf. The structures
and colors of the desert and its hills is a unique sight.
